Linocut – “Brave Face”

“Brave Face” is in part about quiet discomfort, and in part about making the best of it. Just like any introvert – myself included – at a large scale social gathering. In this case though, the subject who’s putting on a brave face, is a monkey wearing a mask, while meandering in a stylized forrestland, inhabited by other (possibly) friendly creatures.

“Brave Face” was carved by hand in lino, inked by hand in a gradient of dark purple and subtly shiny gold, and handpulled on a etching press on 250 gsm Somerset Satin paper. As a result each print is an unique and original artwork, signed and numbered by the artist. The printed area measures approx. 19 x 16 cm, and the paper 28 x 25.

This print will soon be availably in my shop in a limited edition.
