Linocut – “Chinoiserie I”
“Chinoiserie I” is a limited edition handmade linocut, inspired by Chinoiserie. An 18.th. century aesthetic trend, which occasioned a formidable production of fictitious Chinese imagery, most notably beautiful wallpapers and delicate porcelain.
“Chinoiserie I” was carved by hand in lino, inked by hand in black Caligo, and handpulled on an etching press on exquisite 300 gsm Somerset Satin paper. As a result each print is an unique and original artwork, signed and numbered by the artist. The paper measures approx 38 x 38 cm, and the printed area 26 x 29 cm.
