Linocut – “Poppy Hare II”

Handcarved in lino, and handpulled on a press, “Poppy Hare” is at once unique and keeps the tradition alive. Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19.th. century, it’s focus on nature, and it’s lush and decorative applied arts, this linocut balances the dynamics of movement with a tight composition, comprised by a hare in mid-jump and surrounded by poppies in various states of bloom and wither. If paired together with it’s companion piece “Poppy Fox“, this print forms the image “Fox after Hare”.

“Poppy Hare II” is a limited edition print, printed in lush gold Cranfield Traditional ink on luxurious black Stonehenge cotton paper. The printed image measures approx. 20×14 cm, and the paper 28 x 38 cm.
