Linocut – “Poppy Fox” / Gold on Black Vellum

Handcarved in lino, and handpulled on a press, “Poppy Fox” keeps the printmaking tradition alive. Each print is unique, original, handmade and signed by the artist.

“Poppy Fox” draws it’s inspiration from the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19.th. century – it’s focus on nature, and it’s lush and decorative applied arts – yet adds a contemporary touch. The motive balances the dynamics of movement with a tight composition, comprised by a fox in mid-jump and surrounded by poppies in various states of bloom and wither. “Poppy Fox” can either be displayed as a companion piece for “Poppy Hare“, with which it forms the motif Fox after Hare, or framed as a standalone piece.

“Poppy Fox” is printed with a shiny yet subtle dark gold ink on luxurious Stonehenge black vellum (100% cotton, 250gsm). The printed image measures approx. 20×15 cm, and the paper 38×28 cm.
