Linocut – “A Gilded Cage” / Gold on Pale Peachy-Pink

“A Gilded Cage” is a large original linocut, handcarved and handpulled. Each print is unique and signed by the artist. It features a lavishly carved birdcage, and a fairly fictitious perspective, which lends the composition a sense of movement and dynamics.

The image measures approx 38 x 53 cm , and the paper 48 x 62 cm. It is printed on 100 gsm Hahnemühle Ingres pastel paper, a paper with four deckled edges, and fine laid lines (a faint linear structure in the paper, giving it a wonderful texture). It is printed with Cranfield Traditional oil-based gold ink on a very pale peachy-pink melange. This is a preliminary edition of 3 artist’s proofs (AP).
