Linocut – “Thistle Hare”

“Thistle Hare” was inspired by the late 19th. century arts and crafts movement, especially by William Morris and his striking wall papers and textile designs. “Thistle Hare” has a dynamic composition, and features an organic abundance of stylized thistles and a jackrabbit on the move.

“Thistle Hare” was carved by hand in lino, inked by hand using gold Cranfield Traditional ink, and handpulled on an etching press on a beautiful dark blue, laid pastel paper. As a result each print is an unique and original artwork, and is signed and numbered by the artist. The paper measures approx. 25 x 32 cm, and the printed area 20 x 18 cm.
